Started physical theapy on Monday what a bitch talk about freaking sore and I have to do this for the next two months. OH JOY!!
How about that northeast snow storm last weekend, gotta love the white stuff once a year. I really think that the TV new stations have nothing else to report and they spend 20 minutes of the evening news showing plows, people out walking in the snow and kids cheering for a day off of school. Boty is that getting old. They could just save one snow storm story and show they same thing every time it snows.
Speaking of news this whole Dick Cheney story is starting to really annoy me. It was an accident and let it be. Yes it bad to get shot, and hunting is certainly a dangerous sport. I guess it is the slow news days(no more snow to report). I my self have been shot not nearly as bad as the lawyer but I did take a pellet in the chest. I saw the guy shoot I was not in his line of fire but I took what they call a flier in the middle of my chest. The pellet went threw a vest and lodged in a down vest, I still had a sweat shirt and a t-shirt on. The mark on my chest was the size of a 50 cent piece.From that day forward I never went hayfield with out a pair of safty glasses. if that pellet had hit me in the face or eye it would have caused some serious damage.
Monday after therapy I headed down to AC to play in another poker tournament at the Hilton. I was sat next to guy who was in his later 60's and he said this was the first time he had played Texas hold'em. I could tell early in the game he pulled a nut flush. His hands were shaking as he picked up his chips to toss. After one hand the guy starts chatting with me like he is all pro. He played dlike a fool most of the evening although he got lucky on several hands he was not a good player. He got another player to fold on a crazy bet. The foldee mucked his cards up to show what he had Mr beginner just mucked his cards with no show. Where is the poker etiquette.!! I don't mind playing with beginners (hell I am One) but along with the rules of the game learn the proper etiquette.
Valentines day was nice had the closetest thign I have to a Valentine(other then Dinger my dog) over for dinner. Made some nice filets on the grill, with asparagus and doubled baked horseradish potatoes. Yum! Dinner was good Dessert was better!!
If there was not a valentine my favorite place to spend valentines day is at the go-go bar. Nothing better then giving dolaars to the girls who I actually think they feel sorry for you on VD day!! One day out of the year they have a bit of pity in their heart for the money bags sitting at the bar!!
Spring training begins!!!!! spring can not be far behind!!!

Finally a Pay off
After spending countless hours watching poker on tv and playing more games online plus reading several books on the topic of Texas Hold'em, I finally got my payback. I have been a casual card player since I played my first game of "roodles" at my dads fishing club when I was 10 and I won $4.00. I played alot in college and spent alot of nights playing poker with buddies. I skipped my senior prom to play an all night poker games with some fellow non prom attendees.(such not the ladies man)
Well yesterday I was down in AC at the Hilton not the coolest hotel in AC but they have lots of give backs and I get lots of free over night stays comped. They have a new poker room with several Texas hold'em tournaments each day. So I played in $65 +15 at 2:00pm I made it to the final table out of 20 players and finshed in third place. I won $232.00 not a mega tournamnent win but a nice return on my 85.00. They had a 40.00 +00 (no vig) tournamnet at 6pm I signed up. This was an interesting tournamnet over 40 players most of these guys and girls were, what I call TV players they watch the game on TV and think they can play. They have no stratagy and can make for some intersting bets. The action was fast and furious I played only quality hands and found my self again at the final table. I figured I was about 6th or 7th in chips with number one and two way ahead of everybody, while nine and ten were really short stacked. I again only played quality hands and used positon on the table to gain most of my chips. I again made it to the final three and bowed out. I won 365.00 an even better investment on my original $40.00. The tournament went from 6-10:30 I figured I would have dropped more then that downstairs playing roulette or craps.
The World series of Poker will be at Harrarhs starting todat through nesxt week. I have to check out the schedule but will probally head down and try my luck . till then remember "all you need is a chip and a chair"!!

no luck at all WDAF
it 's been a few days since my last post and boy whata few days it has been still suffering from the freaking shoulder surgery
man this sucks I can not wait to see the Dr. on tuesday and get out of this sling.
well you wanna hear about my sleprock performance in AC on friday. I was at the Hilton (free room-1927) so I go down to play some craps while waiting for a poker seat. I usally play the numbers 31 and 27. As I walk up to the table 31 hits while I am waiting for chips, so I say screw this off i go to play craps. 15 minutes later down a franklin I walk by the craps table and see the 31 followded by 27 and 19 (check out the room number) I did have a few hands of luck at the poker table and walked away ahead(well at the poker table anyway)
Tonight I am watching TVG there is a race from cal expo(pacers) I have no program or stats but I see and old friend driving a horse named nightmareonelm the only reasoon to bet is that I know the driver despite the odds of 30-1 I sign on to TVG and get shut out on the horse and the tri 7-2-1 which paid 1658.00 even my $1.00 box pays me half of the triple.
So no way I betting on the XL sunday, I will stick with the few lame box pools that I am in and try my luck in AC tuesday night!!
Enjoy the game and lets just hope it is a good one.
although Reggie White was an off the field wacko in his thought process in my book. I had to love the way he played on the field he deserved the HOF and f**k troy I hate the "boys"
